Kroger Fuel Points Calculator: How Much Will You Save Per Gallon?
Enter what you spend at Kroger this month, or your current points balance. The calculator works out your discount per gallon, flags points you are about to waste on the 100-point rounding, and tells you whether the balance is worth more at the pump or on groceries.

Fuel or groceries — which is this balance worth more on?
Kroger now lets you redeem the same points either way. 100 points is a flat $1 off groceries, or 10¢ per gallon on fuel — so the answer depends entirely on how many gallons you pump.

Questions people get wrong about Kroger fuel points
Why did I only get 10¢ off when I had 190 points?
Points redeem in whole 100-point increments. 190 points buys 10¢ off, and the leftover 90 sit in your balance until they expire. This rounding is the single most common way points get thrown away, which is why the calculator flags it above.
Do Kroger fuel points expire?
Yes — at the end of the month after you earn them. Points earned in March expire on 30 April. That gives you between 30 and 60 days depending on when in the month you shopped, and balances do not roll forward indefinitely.
How many gallons can I use the discount on?
Up to 35 gallons per transaction at most locations, which caps a full 1,000-point redemption at $35 saved. Gallon limits and maximum discounts vary by location, and some stores set them differently.
Why is the discount capped at 10¢ at my Shell station?
Partner stations frequently limit redemption to 100 points per fill-up, while Kroger Family fuel centers allow the full 1,000. If you have a large balance, the drive to a Kroger fuel center is usually worth it — switch the location dropdown above to compare.
Is it ever better to take the groceries discount?
Yes, and more often than people assume. The break-even is exactly 10 gallons. Below that, 100 points is worth more as $1 off groceries than as 10¢ per gallon. If you drive a small car or top up rather than fill, groceries can be the better redemption.
